Any guesses? The FIRST American college to take on the @sumothchallenge is... 🥁[drumroll] @webbinstitute 🎉

@webb_sumoth is still in the design phase and won’t compete until next year, but stay tuned for the 2026 edition taking place next week June 8-14 in 📍Lake Garda, Italy 🇮🇹 06/12/2026

I love this video so much. Why? Because a dear friend of mine is the person in the video and one of our team, Jackson Fisher, was one of the very few accepted in the freshman class at Webb in New York. This is an amazing example of one of our sailors winning! Our team in the past has stayed with Ms Chenard’s family in Lake Norman. I have stayed at the family home in Newport. We truly have a small world situation here. Sailing ⛵️ connections can last a lifetime.

PAMinator is getting there. Name is applied. A little gel coat and hardware and she will be ready to race! Things are happening at the Breakwater Court YC.

Our team almost always supplies sailors supporting Special Olympics at JIYC! There 3 were great athletes.

Come see Jackson, Georgia, and Avery at their last team end of year celebration and rest of our team for some swimming and maybe sailing as well. Thx to the Montgomery family for having us. 2pm. 🕑 bring your life jacket and swimsuit.

We were well represented! Otto Demuth won the Wing Foil Division!!! Nice work. So proud. I often tell people Otto was allowed to miss practice to foil. Way before foiling was cool. Coach Hamm was PRO and some of our varsity squad were instrumental in helping the event happen. Noah and Thomas ran one of the safety boats. Such a cool event with people coming from all over the country! I am proud of JICHS. Even Coach Loring participated and was top 6. I only manage a few big races a year and this is a favorite!

Hopefully we have everyone photographed here. Missed only a few sailors on the team. Manning actually FaceTimed us. Hope he is feeling better.
