Congratulations to Abey McLeod, recipient of the Lori Mobley Groover Leadership Award!

A standout student in Mercer University's Master of Athletic Training program, Abey has distinguished herself through exceptional leadership, academic excellence, and service to the profession. As Vice President of the Athletic Training Club, she helped organize the program's inaugural Athletic Training Month 5K, which became the club's most successful fundraiser to date.

Known for her initiative, strong work ethic, and commitment to professional growth, Abey actively seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge, develop her leadership skills, and serve others. Her dedication in the classroom, clinical settings, and student leadership roles reflects her passion for the athletic training profession and her desire to inspire future generations of athletic trainers.

The Georgia Athletic Trainers’ Association is an organization committed to education of its members and enhancement of the profession of athletic training, leading to better healthcare for the population which it serves. The GATA is proudly composed of licensed athletic trainers in many different settings. Over 1000 licensed athletic trainers from professional, collegiate, and high school teams to industries, physician offices, and rehabilitation clinics all work together to promote and practice the profession of athletic training within the state of Georgia.

All GATA award winners will be recognized at the Awards & Honors Luncheon held during the GATA Annual Meeting on the University of Georgia campus June 5-7. For more information go to www.athletictraining.org.

And that’s a wrap. Hardeeville scored a goal late in the 2nd half of overtime to beat us 2-1. Hold your head high boys as you had one heck of a year and played your hearts out. Couldn’t be more proud to be part of the Riptide Nation!

Riptide take it to overtime with a game tying goal by Blake Rhodes, with roughly 2 minutes left to go in regulation.

#1 ranked CCSMS will take on the #2 ranked Hardeeville in the SCHSL 1A Lower State Championship tonight at RB Stall. Kickoff is set for 6pm. Tickets are $8. The game will be covered by and will be live streamed. Come out and support our guys as we try to punch our ticket to the State Championship!

Riptide softball takes care of business tonight as they beat Bethune Bowman 11-0 in the 2nd round. Pitcher, Audriana Frasier, clinched her 200th strikeout of the season and made her total 204. We will travel to Carvers Bay on Monday in the 3rd round.
