.223Rem can be safely fired from a 5.56NATO barrel, but not the other way around—firing 5.56NATO in a .223Rem barrel can be dangerous due to higher pressure levels.
A .223Wylde marked barrel was designed to handle both safely.
If you're running a .300 Blackout build, always use separate mags and clearly marked containers to prevent dangerous mix-ups.
