We have a couple of big reminders. #1. This Saturday August 29th at 10:00 AM is the annual fund raiser for the Charlevoix Jr Golf Program. Proceeds help the golf program. Did you know that 100% of funds raised go right back to Junior Golf? Did you know that last year over 800 rounds of junior golf play were covered by Charlevoix Junior Golf? There are still openings. $50 a player and includes golf and lunch. Call Scott Kelly with any questions.

#2. Saturday September 5th will be the next glow ball night. Cost is $30 (City of Charlevoix, Residents only $25) and Season Pass Members can play for $10. Each greens fee includes a glow ball. Extra Glow balls available to purchase for $5. Tee off between 7:30 and 8:30 PM. You must check in by 8:30.

The Charlevoix Venetian Festival Three Club Tournament was another wonderful event. We had over 60 participants and a very tight finish with FOUR golfers shooting a 37. Winners should swing by the Muni and pick up your prizes. First place in each division wins a bag tag and sweatshirt. Second place a bag tag and insulated water bottle. The four overall champs also get a 5-punch card. Thanks to everyone who joined us yesterday!

The smoke and rain have cleared away and today we are hosting the Charlevoix Venetian Festival Three Club Tournament. Come play on Michigan's best municipal course and discover the best walk in Charlevoix! Those of you that pre-registered, please plan to tee off before 4:00. If you did not pre-register don't worry, we will accept walk-ins as well. Categories include Junior, High School, Adult Women, Adult Male, and Senior.

Additionally, we have a one club open category.

*Junior and Women use red tees, all others white tees.
*Three Clubs plus a putter
*Lateral one stroke drop for balls lost in tall grass.

As we gear up for the Memorial Day weekend, we currently are opening at 9:00 AM. That will change starting Monday May 25th. Opening time will be 7:30 AM. Also, this is the last week to get a $10 discount on your five punch card. Card prices increase to $90 for City Residents and $100 for non-residents on May 26!

Glow Ball returns this Saturday May 16th to the Charlevoix Golf Club! Cost is $30 (City of Charlevoix, Residents only $25) and Season Pass Members can play for $10. Each greens fee includes a glow ball. Extra Glow balls available to purchase for $5.

This is a really fun activity to play with friends or family. Tee Off starts at 8:00. Last Tee Off will be 9:30.

Tips for this outing:
1.We suggest that your group play "scramble format". It will be dark and this is the safest way for your group to play.
2.Bring a flashlight or head lamp. Your eyes will in general adjust and you will be able to see as it gets dark. But if you hit a bad shot or the light goes out on your glow ball before you recover it, it is best to have the extra light source with you.
3.Bring a warm extra layer in your golf bag. It will cool off quickly when the sun goes down.

It's that time of the year when due to weather conditions, the pro shop may be closed when you arrive. Please remember to sign-in, make payment to the honor tube, and be mindful of the posted start time-currently 10:00 AM. And please ALWAYS start at hole #1. If the clubhouse is closed and you have questions or concerns you can call the Charlevoix Recreation Department at 231-547-3253.
