The Lidl-Trek men's team did terrific at the TdF securing the green jersey for Mads Pedersen, while Mattias Skjelmose was 6th overall in GC and Juan Ayuso was 7th overall in the GC. And these results take a team including the other 5 guys... Quinn Simmons, Toms Skujins, Mathia Vacek, Carols Verona and Derek Gee-West. Because of this teamwork and strength they secured the overall team classification win.
Now on to the women's Tour de France called the TdF Femmes which starts this Saturday, August 1st in Lausanne, Switzerland and ends on August 9th in Nice, France.
Also, have you ever wondered what it takes to run a World Tour organization overall... men's, women's and development? Check out the link below...

Jhon and Christian lead us out last night at the Wednesday night Trek Ride. We also had special guest and former Carolina Panthers star DeAngelo Williams join us.
DeAngelo's Foundation is putting on their 7th Annual 53 Strong Deathlon on Saturday, August 1st at his Williams Rushing Farm in Monroe. Please consider coming out to particpate, cheer others on or sharing the link below on your social media.
The Foundation's goal is to provide free mammogram screenings to facilitate early detection of breast cancer. The Deathlon event is a 3.4 mile run followed by a 20, 34 or 53 mile bike ride. And of course you can do both or just one event. It is about bringing community together to support a cause.

This pertains to the ongoing discussion of the A Race and A Pace groups. Why don't we try this out this week (7/1)...
The entire A group goes out together and neutralized until Crane. Whoever drops on Crane can decide to stop and regroup at the bottom of Crane and ride together as safety in numbers OR you can go at your own pace and try to catch back on (which probably won't happen until Waxhaw).
You can decide to take the short loop back to the shop (left on Waxhaw-Marvin) or the long loop into Waxhaw. If you want to catch back on to the A group, I might suggest you either regroup with them at the potential store stop OR go further out Waxhaw-Monroe Road/Highway 75 and catch them on that road or even on Sims. This allows dropped riders to catch back on going backwards on the Waxhaw loop without chasing and probably not catching back on going up Rehobeth.
The A group will pause at the top of Rehobeth at Sims. If they see you within sight coming up Rehobeth they can wait, but this will be their only stop unless the heat dictates a store stop in Waxhaw.
This ride is the ride of the entire group and not one person, so you start with the group and it goes. If you drop you can form another group or ride on your own. It is your decision what route, mileage and pace you want to go even within the A group. The A Race group is a "drop ride".
Let Pete know if you have any questions tomorrow. He and Kerry will discuss feedback and ideas and come to decisions for the A ride. But please know your tribe and understand the pros and cons for all options. Have a great and safe ride and thank you for coming out and enjoying our Wednesday night Trek Ride.

If you do the A ride or would like to try the A ride I am asking for feedback on an idea. We have noticed the group being split up a lot more because of the 2 new round abouts on Henry Harris. We just can't stop and regroup safely anymore. And the pace of the A group last night was about 22 to 22.5.
We were thinking what if we had an "A Race Group" and an "A Pace Group"? Both groups would start together and split at Crane.
The Race group would do their typical ride, attack, sprint, blast the hills, KOMs, etc. Average 22-23
The Pace group would ride more consistently, paceline, lighter on the hills while trying to keep it together. Average 20-21
I realize some folks may want to start with the Race Group and drop to the Pace Group, but that also changes dynamics of the group and then those that were dropped may try to push the pace of the Pace Group. That is not the intent here. More about comradery, a consistent pace, a tough workout, safety, solid communication and paceline etiquette.
What are your thoughts and/or interest? Your feedback is welcome as we constantly look for ways to improve your experience, safety and enjoyment of the ride.
Thank you!

Reminder that the Trek South "A" Group has started their summer Waxhaw/Rehobeth Loop last week and will continue for a few months. You can always skip the 10-mile loop and go back the regular route or even back track if you get dropped and catch the group coming back on Sims or even Waxhaw Highway. The pic is their first Rehobeth of the season at the top of Rehobeth and Sims. The "B" group still does their normal route all summer.
BTW, the feedback was that it was fun keeping the group together on that entire 10-mile loop and just re-grouping at the top of Rehobeth.
Hope to see you tomorrow night at 6:00p.

We were fortunate enough to have Brian & Melissa Caveny (ride ambassadors) join us this past Wednesday night to share about an incredible charity bike ride called Ride to End ALZ - South Carolina (Alzheimer's Association) on July 10-12, 2026. There are so many ride options for every distance, pace and level and fully supported in a friendly and safe environment. Please join the cause, volunteer, donate or whatever you can do to support. Any donation is tax-deductible. Thank you very much for considering this event.

We were so honored to have Diego Mora and his mom Luz join us last night and share his journey to recovery and see us off on the ride. We hope that Diego will be back out there on a bike with us soon. Prayers up to him, his family, his supporters, his healthcare teams and his recovery. As Matt Fisher alluded to last night they still need financial support if you can help contribute for their ADA van, rehab, therapy, etc. It takes a village and the cycling community is his tribe. Here is the link to the F3 fundraising page. Thank you for considering.
