Bryce Young is giving Carolina reasons to believe. Now the Panthers need to turn that into WINS.

Cleveland was another frustrating example. Young threw for 291 yards and a touchdown, keeping Carolina within striking distance throughout the afternoon, but the Panthers ultimately came home on the wrong side of a 21-18 game.

Still, there's something building with their quarterback. Young has now thrown a touchdown pass in six consecutive games, giving the offense a level of consistency it can lean on as Carolina tries to find its way back into the win column.

And returning home could help. Young has thrown multiple touchdown passes in three of his last four home games, while his previous matchup with Detroit produced 247 yards and three scores through the air.

The Panthers don't need to reinvent everything in Week 4. They need to take the good football their quarterback is already playing and make it count when the Lions come to town.

The Carolina Panthers can’t catch a break.

The injury bug has completely decimated the roster to start the season. With multiple key starters already sidelined, Panthers reporter Mike Kaye noted that he "can't recall the last time I saw this many notable players go down for a team before October."

Losing a few players is a normal part of the NFL, but having the roster decimated this early makes it incredibly difficult to build any momentum.

If Carolina cannot get healthy soon, it is going to be a very long year.

There are two completely different chapters in Bryce Young's NFL career.

The hesitant QB who got benched in 2024, and the stone-cold killer operating the Carolina Panthers' offense today.

Whatever happened during that stint on the sideline, something fundamentally clicked, and the contrast is absolute night and day.

When Carolina made the call to bench their former No. 1 overall pick early in his second year, critics were already writing off his career.

Through his first 20 NFL games, he looked timid, overwhelmed, and completely handcuffed by low-depth-of-target playcalling, posting more interceptions (13) than touchdowns (11) with a dismal 5.5 yards per attempt.

Fast forward to 2026, and that version of Bryce Young doesn't even exist anymore:

Carolina knows its rushing attack has to improve after another slow start in the 21-18 loss to Cleveland. The Carolina Panthers managed just 18 rushing yards in the first half and now rank 21st in the NFL at 97.0 rushing yards per game through three weeks.

Robert Hunt believes the offensive line has been consistently “one man off,” while Dave Canales pointed to missed blocks and problems handling Cleveland’s movement up front. The improvement eventually came, with Chuba Hubbard finishing with 82 yards on 19 carries.

Carolina now faces Detroit on Sunday Night Football, making finding an early rhythm on the ground even more important. As Hunt put it, the Panthers have seen what their run game can look like — they just can’t keep starting slowly.
