Still good to focus on our "ABC"s, was helpful in 2020, 2021, 2022, and every day!

Check out this lobster action from my grandson Noah!! Good job at only 2.5 years old! And looks like he’s going to be a lefty, so watch out! Tennis is a lifetime sport, and even at age 2 or 3, games & skills activities with racquet and ball are helpful and fun for children’s overall development. Games like ‘Lobster,’ ‘Roly Poly,’ ‘Smush and Push’ and ‘Walk the Dog’ are awesome!

Let me know if you’d like to schedule a lesson - little kids to big kids welcome!

Hello friends and happy teamwork Tuesday!

We miss you, and hope you are safe and well! We are still sad that we are not able to offer our SuperStarters Tennis camps and lessons this summer.

However, we are scheduling privates, and very small group lessons for July & August. Please call the 434-296-3513 if you are interested, and we would love to connect.

General reminders for tennis: bring sanitizer & wipes with you when you play, and do not touch anyone else’s tennis balls with your hands. If balls come on your court from other courts, just use your racquet to send them back.

And virtual high fives!
Let’s continue to be safe and take care of each other.
Thanks for your support of SuperStarters and our programs. We will miss seeing our big groups & having FUN in camp, but we can still play, learn & grow through tennis!

Happy to say that county tennis courts are now OPEN! I was at Darden Towe this morning teaching and the courts were full. Nice to see people & families playing and enjoying the game we all love!

The county Parks & Recreation is not having any youth programs this summer, so we are sorry to say that we can not offer our SuperStarters Tennis camps, or other tennis group programs for youth, teens & adults. However, we CAN offer private lessons so please message me if you’re interested.

Hi everyone: Check this out! A cool virtual tennis program! While courts are closed, here is a great way to learn and practice tennis - physical, technical, tactical, and mental aspects of the game. Here is the link to sign up! Let me know if you do so I can support you in your learning!

There are three courses:
Futures - 11 and under
Challenger - 12 to 18 year olds
Tour - adults

Homepage Lockdown has been a testing time for us all, but it is also an opportunity to develop many areas of a player's game that are often neglected. Over the past 6 weeks we’ve been running a successful online programme for our full-time players at STA that covers all elements of the game.

Even without being on the court or in the gym, we can still exercise! Whether you are walking, hiking, hitting against a wall or with a foam ball on the side of the house, or getting more creative, ( )exercise helps reduce stress, and helps increases attention, focus and brain function. One of the best things we can all do is exercise any way we can! I’ve started jumping rope every day, and am loving my new habit! How about you?

Are you having shutdown fatigue? This week’s WOW or “Word of the week” from WAHS Girls Tennis might be a good reminder. Accept whatever is going on for you, and we will get through this together, and be stronger on the other side. And we will be waiting for you on the courts!

04/11/2020

WAHS Girls Tennis team word of the week or ‘WOW’ is ‘perseverance.’ We will persevere together. Stay safe. Stay connected. As a community, we will get through and be stronger for it!
