This is your reminder that when things feel like they’re moving too fast you can always slow down. Even a few minutes stretching or lying down and feeling your breath reminds your body it’s ok to move at your pace.
Come in for a Somatic Experiencing session to allow time for deep relaxation and settling into your body and the season of life you’re in. DM for more information.

Summer time looks like soaking in sweet summer moments… local tomatoes & homegrown basil, porch sitting and a slightly slower rhythm.
For August I have two discounted options available:

5 years ago I opened the doors to Rooted Wellness & Pilates, a cozy studio where you can show up as your whole self. 1:1 Pilates and Somatic Experiencing sessions where we care for your body while also holding space for all the experiences your body holds.
Grateful for all of you who have made this studio so wonderful. Thank you for being here and trusting me to support you.

April was a doozy! I was sick for much of it then travel to meet my new niece last week.
This week I’ve been catching up on sleep and following my own advice to listen to my body. My body has wanted very little exercise and as much sleep and rest as possible and so I’ve listened to that. I know the gym will still be there when I’m ready.
Today I was craving some time on the reformer and was I started to move I felt my breath deepen and was reminded how good my body feels when I do Pilates. 😅

One of my favorite ways to tune into my body is to place a hand on my heart and a hand on my belly and notice my breath.
I like the way the contact of my hands feel, it makes me more aware of my body and my boundaries. Feeling the rise and fall of my breath under my hands helps me feel more tuned into my body in the moment.
Nervous system regulation doesn’t need to be complex and simple things can be helpful and supportive.
