We posted this last year, and itโs still just as important today. ๐งก๐
With a new season ahead, itโs worth sharing again. There will be great plays, missed serves, big wins, tough losses, proud moments, and frustrating ones.
Through all of it, remember the most important part:
Theyโre still just kids. ๐งก
Let them learn. Let them make mistakes. Let them grow. Cheer them on through all of it.
Theyโre still just kids, you know. ๐๐งก
The girl who attacked the ball and sent it straight into the net is the same girl who sings at the top of her lungs in the car on the way home.
The girl who missed that perfect serve is the same girl who still asks you to braid her hair before every game.
The girl who hesitated on that set is the same girl who dances in the kitchen with her best friend and makes TikToks.
The girl who walked off the court with tears in her eyes is the same girl who will be giggling with her teammates 20 minutes later at the team dinner.
Volleyball is where theyโre figuring it all out โ who they are, how strong they can be, and how to get back up after falling down (sometimes literally). Itโs where they learn that mistakes happen, that effort matters more than perfection, and that showing up for their team is what really counts.
Remember that when the match doesnโt go our way, when they seem frustrated, or when theyโre quiet on the ride home.
Theyโre not professionals with stats on the line.
Theyโre still just kids โ learning, growing, loving this sport, and becoming stronger every single game.
Cheer for them. Encourage them. Remind them that they are more than the score on the board.
