Silverdale Athletics

Congratulations to our varsity volleyball team which continued its undefeated season yesterday, winning against Collegedale in straight sets yesterday! This team is fun to watch, so make plans to come cheer them on. They play twice at home next week- Cleveland on Tuesday and Boyd on Thursday, which is also the Pink Out game.

Silverdale’s annual Pink Out Volleyball Game is September 10 at the SC Gym! All funds raised will go to the MaryEllen Locher Foundation, which provides college scholarships to children who have lost a parent to breast cancer or have a parent who is a breast cancer survivor.

Ways to participate:

🩷 Wear pink for $3 on September 10.

💵 Buy a $20 Pink Out shirt available September 9–10 before school, at the game, or online (link in comments).

🚗 Donate during morning carline September 9–10.

🏐 Attend the game: JV at 5 PM, Varsity at 6:30 PM.

At the half last night, seniors from other fall sports were honored on the field, including seniors from color guard, cross country, and golf. These athletes have already been making us proud this season. Go Seahawks!

Before last night's football game, senior cheerleaders, the team's drone pilot, and senior football players were honored on the field for Senior Night. Twenty-two students came onto the field with parents, siblings, coaches, and a faculty member who has made a significant difference in their lives. Eighteen of those students were football players, one of the largest senior classes we have had on the football team. We are so proud of these talented and hard-working seniors and are looking forward to seeing what they do this season!

The Seahawks did it again! For the second year in a row, they defeated South Pittsburg, a tough team that doesn't often lose football games. It was our first home game of the season, Senior Night, New Family Night, and Kindergarten Night, so the stadium was filled with fans of every age to witness what could only be described as a beautiful game. Several Seahawk touchdowns, a blocked kick, and a stop as the Pirates attempted a two-point conversion in the last seconds of the game left the score 14-13 with the Seahawks taking the win!

Thanks to all the fans who braved the heat to come watch our JV middle school football team play Normal Park last night. The JV game was before the Varsity game, and our team just kept scoring, winning the game 26 to 6!

Eighth grade cheerleaders were also honored during 8th grade night last night, coming onto the field with their parents during the middle school football game halftime. The cheerleaders work hard all week long to prepare routines and keep the crowd pumped up, and many of these eighth graders have been leaders on and off the field!
