Just started this book by Casey Means, MD. Much information I’ve already read and studied over the years gaining my nutrition certifications, but there’s still so much more information out there. Sorry for my messy notes 📝 I was trying to take while working out 🏋️‍♀️

While we (docs) are so quick to diagnose symptoms, many are not educated on how to dig deep to the root cause of problems and start healing from the inside out.

I am super hesitant to take any supplements or medication unless I have bloodwork and testing from a functional doc to back it up. (This is personal so there’s no judgement) everywhere we look there are more and more “fixes” for everything however no one is taking time to drill down to the root cause. This also hits personally as we’re working through things in our own home and I’m so thankful for docs willing to take a more holistic approach first.

If you’re curious I highly recommend this book or even start following her on IG. Happy to chat because I am devouring this book 📖 🤓

This is really good.

As someone that cares deeply about health and believes in the power of finding the root cause instead of just treating the symptoms, I believe everyone should give this a listen and ask questions.

I’m thankful for our functional doctor.
I believe in the power of prevention instead of reaction.
Know your body and know how to advocate for yourself and your kids and your family members.

No apologies ~ I took a hiatus from major social media posting because I just needed it. Hit the reset button and recalibrated.
During this time I focused on training for my first 70.3 in Chattanooga. Over 20 weeks, countless hours and miles, and I made it across the finish line with the biggest smile on my face.

Put my down time (thanks flu) to some good use and finally got approval from FullScript to start helping my friends and family have access to quality supplements straight from the retailer at a 15% discount.

No worry about purchasing through Amazon that your supplements may be tampered with (yes that's a thing.)

I can also help you seek out the best supplements based on ingredient, need, and budget. While I do believe there are some supplements that we do need on a daily basis (not many), others serve us well during specific seasons of life and time of year.

I don't believe in a one-size fits all approach or following one specific brand, so being able to partner with FullScript is a dream for me! If you'd like some help or you're ready to switch from Amazon to a trusted supplier just let me know

Trying to organize links for everyone that have asked about a few different things I utilize. I am not a one-stop shop with supplements because I have personal philosphies about them and I don't just use one company. Our bodies are ever-changing and so are formulas, so I am always on the hunt for the best quality and least amount of ingredients.

Protein Powder being the most common (all my favorites are on Amazon but PROMIX has become my new favorite and cleanest I have found).

Amino Tablets and Electrolytes and I am about to start using their NuCell repair (follow Body Health and bonus they're LOCAL)

Mouth Tape ~ I have trial packs if you'd like some, but I highly recommend them if you want to get quality night sleep and/or increase your training capacity during cardio activity (Lunasol)

Set GOALS in 2024 instead of resolutions.

By setting goals AND working on habits, you will hit those goals and create a lifestyle that you can sustain and ENJOY!

Start by making a list of GOALS you want to accomplish.
Next figure out what habits need to be in place for you to hit those goals.
You *might* need to STOP doing some things.
You *might* need to START doing some things.
You will probably be able to KEEP doing some things you already have in place.

Goals can encompass:
*Fitness and Nutrition
*Financial
*Relationships
*Spiritual
*Educational
*Career
*Personal development and growth

It will personally take me a while to figure out all of my goals and what habits need to be set in place BUT the main thing is getting started.
Pick something.
Plan it out.
Attack it.
Rinse and repeat.
