Wishing all our families a safe and enjoyable trip to Tennessee for the 16U Scenic City tournament/showcase event. This event provides an ideal stage for our players to demonstrate their commitment to excellence, both individually and as a team player.
It’s awesome to see and hear about our girls attending college camps. Callie Grant attended an all day camp at Blinn College, yesterday. Today Addison Powell and Kaylen Frost are attending a pitching camp at Texas Lutheran University. Great work ladies!

This past weekend, we faced some good competition and some of our players were able to showcase some stellar defensive plays on the field. Our pitchers really stepped up and delivered some solid performances in the circle. However, we fell short in the batting department throughout the weekend. Our hitting struggled, preventing us from capitalizing on crucial opportunities to apply pressure on our opponents. We’ll work hard in practice to improve our offensive game and come back stronger next time.
To the hitting coaches who are working with our players, we believe as a coaching staff there may be more effective strategies to help our players translate their hitting skills into live games. Your knowledge and guidance are appreciated but please reach out to our coaching staff for feedback. What you see in the cage is different than what we’re seeing in the game!
Softball lifestyle on a Hot Weekend 🥵:
Even when the weekend starts rough, it’s not about how you begin, but how you respond. Saturday’s challenges were just stepping stones to Sunday’s triumph. We took those tough situations and turned them into lessons, making mental shifts and adjustments in our game. Yesterday, we roared back with fire and energy, reclaiming our dignity and showing the game what we’re made of. “Remember, setbacks are just setups for comebacks.” We will keep that momentum rolling into this weekend’s games. Our 16U summer season started strong last weekend, with a record of 2-1-1 against tough competition. As we prepare for this weekend's games, we will continue to push our players to excel and showcase their talents and abilities.

Softball and Baseball world, be cautious about who you imitate; not all information is good information. I enjoy having side conversations with college coaches now more than ever, as I coach both high school softball and baseball in the summer and fall, while spring belongs to their high schools. Understanding what schools and college coaches seek is crucial for successful recruitment. Always be a student of the game, willing to learn and unlearn and learn again as needed.
