We started casting spoons and jigs, expecting white bass, but the catfish had other plans. Seeing the opportunity, we dropped fresh bait beneath the schools, and the action quickly picked up.

We caught slab after slab of fat, monster-sized shellcracker, and some thick bluegill pulled straight off the beds. The action was so good, I honestly didn’t even care that the catfish were spawning!
