Head of the H***h Regatta is staying in Chattanooga. For years, this event has brought rowers and families to our city while supporting local businesses and introducing visitors to what makes Chattanooga special. We're grateful for their continued commitment and look forward to welcoming them for many years to come.

Helping journalists connect with the people who know and care for this region is an important part of our PR work.

A new feature in The Independent explores Tennessee’s Indigenous history and the Trail of Tears.

In May, our team welcomed Scotland-based journalist Robyn Wilson through a hosted visit coordinated with Jill Kilgore and the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development (Tennessee Vacation)'s PR team. During her time in Chattanooga, we joined her for a hike at Moccasin Bend, a boat trip to Williams Island, and an opportunity to learn about Native American history at Audubon Acres

Two local partners helped make those connections possible:

• Ava Lowery with Chattanooga Audubon Society shared her knowledge of archaeology and her personal connection to Williams Island, where her grandfather served as a caretaker, and she grew up exploring.

• Eliot Berz with Tennessee River Gorge Trust guided our boat trip and helped connect Robyn directly with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, drawing on the Trust’s work with them on signage for Williams Island.

We’re grateful to Ava, Eliot, Jill, and everyone who shared their time and knowledge during this visit. Their contributions helped Robyn explore this history with greater depth and understanding.

The International Bluegrass Music Association's World of Bluegrass is taking over Chattanooga October 20-24, filling our city with bluegrass through a multi-day conference, evening concerts across multiple venues, a weekend music festival, and an all-day community event: Pickin' in the Park.

Pickin' in the Park is a free, outdoor festival happening in the heart of downtown. It celebrates music, local artists, and our community.

Mark your calendars. Grab your lawn chairs and blankets. We hope to see you there!

Chattanooga's music scene is catching national attention. Two local artists recently performed on NPR Music's Tiny Desk Concert series, one of the most respected showcases in music.

𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗮𝗵 𝗥𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱, a Chattanooga-born Southern hip-hop artist, and 𝗠𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗮, whose sound blends Appalachian folk traditions with African influences, brought our city's creative spirit to a national audience.

World-class artists, diverse venues, and a supportive community are the heart of Chattanooga's music scene. 🎶

We were excited to have our team represented on a panel at today’s GovCon, hosted by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.

Allison Wolfe, Director of Community Engagement, joined leaders from River City Company, Hamilton County Tennessee Parks & Recreation Department, City of Chattanooga - Government and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation for “ A Walk in the Park.” The panel explored how Chattanooga’s local partners work together to build and activate green spaces that serve residents, welcome visitors and support major events.

We are thrilled to welcome nearly 900 attendees to Chattanooga for this year’s conference and share how tourism generates $1.9 billion in visitor spending in Hamilton County, supporting businesses, jobs and experiences across our community.
