The tennis season officially came to a close yesterday in the Quarterfinals of the TSSAA DII-A Girls Doubles State Tournament. The doubles team of Savina Jones/Hannah Widerkehr fell to a tough St. George's team 0-6, 5-7. It was a great season for both the boys and girls teams. Savina and Hannah showed why we are the FIGHTING Irish! We are proud of you!

The boys tennis team season came to an end yesterday against a tough ECS team in the 1st round of the State Tournament.

The Irish entered the State Tournament as the #4 seed from the East. In the opening round they took on ECS, #3 seed from the West on the campus of USN in Nashville.

The boys played inspiring tennis but lost to ECS 2-4.

The Irish Boys hit the road for the 1st Round of the TSSAA DII-A State Tournament! Notre Dame will face Evangelical Christian School at 3pm CST. The match will be played at the University School of Nashville.

ND Boys Tennis is back in action this afternoon in the Region Tournament Semifinals. The Irish will face CAK at 3pm at the Champions Club!

Our #3 seeded girls tennis team took on Grace Christian Academy ( #2 seed) of Knoxville at their location in the 1st round of the Regional Tournament on Monday May 8. The girls fought hard but lost the match 2-4.

Congratulations to our top 2 singles players, Hannah Widerkehr and Savina Jones for their wins. Hannah topped GCA's #1 6-7 (12-14), 6-3. 6-2. Savina beat GCA's #2 7-6,6-4.

The Girls tennis team heads to Knoxville today for the 1st round of the Region Team Tournament! They face Grace Christian Academy- Knoxville at 4pm!

The Doubles Team of Jones/Widerkehr came just short of the region championship, falling 5-7, 2-6 in the final!

They will enter the State Tournament as the East #2 seed and will be back in action on May 25 in the State Tournament!

It's been a busy week for Irish Tennis! Players competed in the District Individual Tournament on Monday and Tuesday. Patrick Osborne (singles) and Savina Jones/Hannah Widerkehr (doubles) advanced to the Region Tournament that began yesterday in Knoxville.

The team of Jones/Widerkehr, won both matches yesterday and will play for the Girls Doubles Region Championship this afternoon! They have also qualified for the State Tournament in Murfreesboro beginning May 25th!
