Due to unfortunate circumstances, we have made the hard decision to not host the Rat Race this year. We do not yet know what we will be doing for 2023 and will let you know once a decision is made.

The deadline to sign up for the race is TODAY, Tuesday, May 25th. If you have not signed up please go to chattanoogaswimfest.org. We were hoping to get 100 swimmers and we are at 70 swimmers.

We are also in need of volunteers especially for kayaking. You can go to the website chattanoogaswimfest.org and click on volunteering & boat support. We have boats and equipment if you need it.

The 14th Annual Chattanooga Rat Race is being held Sunday, June 6 at Chester Frost Park. COVID protocols will be in place.
If you have already signed up, thank you! If you have not, all the details and registration can be found at chattanoogaswimfest.org. The entry deadline is Tuesday, May 25.

The race is a 5K race around a rectangular course. For those who participated in 2018, this is the same course. We will seed the heats based on your 500 freestyle time.

This year's race is open to USA Swimming and USMS registered swimmers. Please forward this on to anyone you know who may be interested. Currently, there is plenty of room in the race.

Also, if you know of someone who would like to be volunteer boat support, please have them go to the Volunteer & Boat Support link at chattanoogaswimfest.com to sign up. We have 16 kayaks available, but feel free to bring your own kayak or SUP. We are also in need of one jet ski to help with water safety.

The Rat Race for May 30-31,2020 has been cancelled. We hope you and your family are healthy and continue to be healthy.

If you have already signed up, we will be working on getting your refunds processed in the next few days. You will receive a full refund, minus processing charges.

We hope to hold this event next year on June 6, 2021. Thank you for understanding and we hope to see you next year.

Many of you are probably wondering what the status of the Chattanooga Rat Race is in the wake of the Coronavirus. It is scheduled to be held May 31. As of today, here is what we know.

The race is sanctioned by USA Swimming and USMS. Both organizations have suspended competitions for the next 30 days. After this period, they will re-evaluate and advise if the race can be held. We, as hosts, want very much to hold the event, but we understand the position USA Swimming and USMS are in.

If you have already signed up and the race is canceled, you will be refunded in full except for the processing fee.

If you want to do the race, but have been hesitant to register, feel free to sign up. If the race is canceled, you will also be refunded in full (minus processing fee).
