We’re honored to perform Hechizos y Fantasmas at the AIM Center’s Mental Health and Hero Awards!

This inspiring event honors the heroes who lead, advocate, and partner with the AIM Center to advance recovery, access, and dignity for adults living with serious mental illness. You’ll enjoy an elegant evening of recognition, connection and storytelling, highlighting the achievements of our awardees while supporting AIM Center’s life-changing programs. From community champions to legacy leaders, the event brings together those who stand up for mental health and demonstrates how Chattanooga comes together to create hope, opportunity and lasting impact.

If you visited Studio34 for a class or event this past week, you may have already seen the Filipino American installation, Our Stories Our People Our Kapwa, already in full display!

This installation is part of Jerigray Eduave’s, our Director of Content and Studio Community as well Artist in Residence at Studio34, Filipino American History Month event happening on October 23-24.

The installation is up from now through October 31. The Filipino American History event centers around the premiere of his contemporary dance work, Naata Diri (We are Here), about the Filipino American experience through the lens of Home and Migration.

Hispanic Heritage Month is a celebration! We celebrate the richness, history, diversity, and JOY of Hispanic, Latine, and Indigenous cultures.

At TPUP, we create opportunities for young people to experience and celebrate culture through Dance Education; encountering history through movement, exploring traditions, and seeing their stories reflected with care and pride.

Heritage is alive. It grows with each generation, travels with us, and continues to be shaped by those who carry it forward.

Our ancestry grounds us.
Education opens us.
Movement connects us.
And JOY reminds us there is always something worth celebrating.

We honor where we come from.
We celebrate who we are.
We make space for one another to belong.

And, siempre, we DANCE!

This month has flown by! As our team wraps up the first quarter of the school year and continues celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, our hearts keep returning to an extraordinary moment we shared last month.

This Land Is Your Land (Esta Tierra Es Tu Tierra) brought together an incredible village of humans who believed in something bigger than ourselves. Together, we dared to shine a light on our shared humanity, celebrate the stories that shape us, and remind one another of our collective responsibility to love, protect, and care for each other.

And what emerged was something truly beautiful. A space where stories were honored, voices were heard, and people felt welcomed, seen, and loved.
Our hearts are full of gratitude for the extraordinary artists, organizations, educators, and community members who made this possible.
To La Paz Chattanooga, Chattanooga Theatre Centre, ArtsBuild, Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition, Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise, and our courageous community storytellers- thank you for believing in this vision and helping bring it to life.
To our exquisite dancers, artists Andy Ramirez and Chase Guajardo, the art educators and student artists at Woodmore Elementary, Dalewood Middle, and Hixson High School, Sofie Berestecky, Kelly Lacy, and Pedro Abriles- your artistry, generosity, and beautiful storytelling gave this work its heart and soul.

And to the Hunter Museum of American Art, thank you for helping us extend this journey through Made For You and Me the following week.

It truly took a village. And what a beautiful village it was!

To everyone who contributed, supported, attended, and believed in what we were creating- Thank YOU!

May we continue to make space for one another, honor the stories that connect us, and remember that this land, this community, and this future belong to ALL of us.

¡Este mes ha pasado volando! Mientras nuestro equipo cierra el primer trimestre del año escolar y continúa celebrando el Mes de la Herencia Hispana, nuestros corazones siguen recordando un momento extraordinario que compartimos el mes pasado.

*This Land Is Your Land* (Esta Tierra Es Tu Tierra) reunió a una comunidad increíble de personas que creían en algo más grande que nosotros mismos. Juntos, nos atrevimos a resaltar nuestra humanidad compartida, a celebrar las historias que nos definen y a recordarnos mutuamente nuestra responsabilidad colectiva de amarnos, protegernos y cuidarnos los unos a los otros.

Kira Vassilev Intro to Ballroom and Country Dancing classes have been so much fun! Grab a friend, and join us on Wednesdays at 7pm for this class.

As one of Studio34’s Artist in Residence, Kira is hosting the Intro to Ballroom and Country Dancing class for FREE every week through December.

Kira’s goal for her residency is to grow and develop the partner dance community in the Chattanooga area. By the looks of it, she’s doing exactly that!

Follow Kira Vassilev and ChattaCountry to stay up to date on all of the things she’s doing including private classes, formation classes, and socials!
