This is one of the best finishes I've ever seen. Sara was running alone the entire race, and just kept running HER race. She prayed, gave thanks for the blessings God gave her, and put it all out there. The woman she overtook at the end was the reiugning marathon world champion! Way to go Sara!!

Great perspective!
Keep building momentum.
No races.
But there’s always a victory to celebrate.
Longest stretch without injuries in a while?
Kept a positive attitude when the run went south?
Longest string of runs since Covid?
There’s always something positive you can find to build upon. 🙌🏽
We wanted to make sure everyone knows that our race is cancelled this year, but we are planning to be back for next years Jfest. If you have already signed up, we are deferring entries until next year.
We are so sorry, but we are doing it in the interest of public health. Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you next year!

Great perspective!
“Without worry you would have arrived exactly where you are right now, and more pleasantly.
Worry and fear are not tickets on the express train, they are extra baggage.
You were going that way anyway.” •
I heard this on a meditation about Fear (from the Liturgists) and wanted to share it today. Hope it encourages you.
It’s been sad to hear all the ripple effects of this virus that have severely impacted people. It’s hard not having a finite finish line in sight and hard to stop the worry cycle sometimes. But worrying is meditating on the wrong thing, and not productive. Praying and choosing peace and hope this week. 🙌🏽

Let us be in prayer for Sara on her quest to represent the USA in the summer Olympics. Can’t think of a better person I’d rather having representing us. 🙏
The buildup is done.
It was a doozie— just like the course in Atlanta.
Heading into this last week with peace that I don’t think I could have done any more to prepare for this moment. Grateful to have achieved my number one goal of staying healthy, only missing 5 days of running for a random ni**le in December (thank you Jesus & to the talented therapists that have helped me stay in one piece!)
It was definitively the hardest I’ve ever trained, and demanded another level of commitment and strength from me I didn’t know was there to give. Almost time to pour it all out 🎉

What a great perspective. Not just running, but life!
Things I would tell my 2010 Self if I could:
*(I couldn’t be bothered to dig up a pic from 2010, so here is one I stole from the internet. Thank you . Also yes 2010 Sara’s hair was much darker as she was very idealistic and felt the salon was a waste of money that could go to help people. Also, she did not yet have gray hairs 😆
1. You’re struggling, but you’re trying to learn to thrive right where you’re at. Learning how to do this will be worth its weight in gold for the future.
2. Let others opinions and expectations of you bounce right off of you. They only have the weight that you give them.
3. Be kind to yourself. Things aren’t going perfect, but celebrate the things you can celebrate. You made a world team. That isn’t easy.
4. You’re training for a 2-3 mile race, but bring you A-game to the long runs and keep investing in your aerobic capacity!
5. There is nothing you can do to make God love you any more or any less, and the people that matter feel the same way. Let that sink in- it will free you from fearing failure.
6. Don’t take yourself so seriously. It’s just running.
