Anyone who knows Greg knows that he embodies what it means to be a true Chattanooga Champion in every aspect of his life and career. Greg goes far beyond his duties as a principal, dedicating countless hours to supporting families and children. Whether it’s making sure a child has lunch, arranging a ride home when no one else is available, or lending a helping hand to a teacher in need, Greg’s commitment to serving his community is unwavering. He consistently goes above and beyond for the children, teachers, and families at East Side Elementary.
With an incredible 33 years of service as a public school educator and administrator, Greg has made a lasting impact on students, teachers, and the broader Hamilton County community. As Principal of East Side Elementary, Greg is unwavering in his mission to create a positive and thriving school environment. Under his leadership, the school has achieved Level 5 and Reward School distinctions, reflecting the incredible growth and success of its students. Greg is also deeply committed to supporting teachers by removing barriers and empowering them to focus on what they do best—teaching.
Beyond his role as an educator, Greg is a passionate advocate for social justice, human rights, and the transformative power of education. He approaches every challenge with love, kindness, and inclusivity, ensuring that no one in his school community feels excluded. He lives by the motto: “We ARE the Village,” tirelessly fostering collaboration, equity, and growth for everyone he serves.
In addition to his accomplishments in education, Greg is an author of young adult fiction, driven by his love of storytelling and his ability to connect with others through meaningful narratives.

We are very saddened, and upset by this. At no point should a driver of a vehicle, much less a school bus driver think it is okay, to get behind a wheel and drive under the influence. This is a MAJOR safety issue and it should not be happening or tolerated. This is only one school, that we know of that has overcrowding on their school buses. We encourage you to reach out to your school board representative and let them know that this on all levels is unacceptable.
