Have you heard of the BEI Interpreter Certification? BEI stands for Board for Evaluation of Interpreters. BEI started in Texas as an in-state interpreter certification. There are three levels of certification (basic, advanced, and master) along with specialized certifications for legal, medical, and tri-lingual (ASL, English and Spanish). BEI is a recognized certification in 20 states, and is included in the proposed Tennessee Interpreter License Bill. Learn more about BEI at:
