My grandmother Stenia was one of the most joyful and courageous women I have ever known.
She was part of the Polish resistance against the N***s in World War II. She survived bombings with my infant father in her arms. When Hi**er ordered every building in Warsaw detonated she stayed in that city alone, living in rubble and basements, drinking from puddles, finding sacks of flour to keep her baby alive.
She raised me with that story woven into my childhood.
Without knowing it, I learned what strength, resilience, and embodied joy looked like.
And the refusal to waste the life you have been given.
She also had a story she never got to tell beyond the family.
And trust me, it’s not because she didn't have one.
But she lived in an era that never gave her the chance. She spent her life surviving, rebuilding, raising children under communism, navigating a world that did not make room for women to speak out.
I finished my second book proposal and I could not stop thinking about her.
The fact that I get to do this.
That I have a voice and a platform and the freedom to write the story and messages I was meant to.
This book is actually her story. The one she never got to tell. And I get to tell it for her.
If you have a book living inside you, please do not leave it there.
You have something to say that only you can say. In an era where you actually get to say it.
Write the thing.
It can become the most important thing in your life’s work.
And if you’re wondering how the hell to turn an idea into a bestseller, get the story arc and book structure, build a platform of readers and publish a book in the world?
I’d love to see you at THE STORY ONLY YOU CAN TELL, my 3-part workshop for visionaries who want to write a book.
