Located in Chenango Valley State Park in scenic Broome County, the original 9-hole course, known as Riverside Golf Course, was designed by engineer James Evans and landscape architect Laurie Cox and constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. In 1967 the course was redesigned by Hal Purdy and expanded to 18 holes. It offers players many challenges from tight, irrigated tree-lined fairways to rolling terrain, undulating greens, and difficult approach shots.

**UPDATE**

Carts will be allowed out beginning at 12pm.

Mother Nature just won’t give us a break. We received almost another inch of rain over night. That brings our total for the week to a little over 3 inches. The golf course is completely saturated. With that said, unfortunately, we will not be letting carts out this morning. We are open but for walking only. We will continue to monitor the golf course, and if we are able to let carts out later in the day, we will post the updates here.

As a reminder, we will be doing a solid tine (small hole, no plugs) aerification and top dress tomorrow, Monday 8/31 (back 9) and Tuesday 9/1 (front 9, all play will begin on #10).

We know this can be both annoying and frustrating to golfers, but this is a vital process needed to maintain the health of the turf on the putting surfaces.

The course will remain open during this process with delayed starting times and alternating starting holes. There will be minimal effect to putting on the greens.

Course Update..

We will be doing a verticut and top dressing to the greens on Monday 8/31 and Tuesday 9/1. We will not be pulling plugs, the greens will be playable each day with minor disruption.

Things like this are necessary for the health of the putting surfaces. We want to continue to give our patrons the best possible playing conditions that we can. We understand that this can be annoying, but we appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Hours of operation update..

The golf shop will now be open from 7:30am until 6:00pm Monday-Friday and 7:00am until 6:00pm Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day.

Due to sunset times, all golf carts and pull cart rentals MUST be returned to the golf shop by 8:00pm currently. This time will decrease as sunset times become earlier. It will be updated on the online portal, and signage will be placed on the shop counter.

After Labor Day, shop hours will be 8:00am until 5:30pm Monday-Friday and 7:30am until 5:30pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Please note that these hours could change without notice. Online portal will be updated accordingly.

There is still plenty of time to get some golf in, we look forward to seeing you here at CVSP Golf!

We will begin letting carts out at noon today. All afternoon leagues will play as scheduled.

Due the storms overnight, we are currently not allowing carts out this morning. We are open for walking only. We will continue to evaluate course conditions throughout the morning and will post updates as they come. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
