Flightless Birds Running Club The FBRC is located in Cheney, WA. We meet every Tuesday (April-November) at 5:45pm (run at 6:00pm) at Barrelhouse Pub & Pizza (122 College Ave).

The Flightless Birds Running Club is located in Cheney, WA. We meet every Tuesday (April-November) at 5:45pm (run at 6:00pm) at Barrelhouse Pub & Pizza for a 3-4 mile run. Our season runs from the first Tuesday in April through the Cheney Turkey Trot in November. But that doesn't mean we stop running. The FBRC Fowl Weather Runners keep meeting and keep running all through the winter. Here's the rub, this is a fun run club and it's FREE! No costs except to buy your awesome FBRC shirt after your 8th run (and for any post run food/beverages). Run, walk, crawl at your own pace. Enjoy meeting new people. Bring friends, family, and pets. The idea is just to get out and run!

Hope you all are doing well. To mix it up tomorrow we're doing a "Choose your own Adventure" but with Popsicle sticks. You'll draw a stick from the cup and that's the route you'll run! Hope you have them all memorized! (If not, we'll have all the routes in the binder for a refresher).

Hi Birds!Did you see our post about the Taco Bell 50k today and thought "that sounds terrible, I want trails and less distance!" Well we have some of that for you as well.

Our besties at the Medical Lake Running Club are putting on a Children of the Sun 6-Hour Run on Saturday September 26th at 7:00am at the Hillyard Children of the Sun Parking Lot.

And there's also the Sekani Trail Run coming up on October 4th. Additional details here: https://www.sekanitrailrun.com/ and in the attached poster.

With the summer winding down we didn't want you all to forget there's still a lot of fun to be had out on the trails.

Hello Birds,

It's time! Probably our craziest idea yet....the Taco Bell 50k. Inspired by the crazy ultra runners of Denver Colorado (https://tacobell50k.com/) we've taken the rules and came up with a Spokane route (kudos to Evan for putting the route together AND doing this twice before...any questions see him).

Here are the details:
Date: Saturday October 3, 2026 (Denver is also doing it on this date, so know there's other people out there just as crazy as you).
Start Time: 7:15am (Taco Bell doesn't open until 7am, so we'll meet around 7:00am to get organized and get our first orders in before we "officially" start)
Start Location: 1202 N Monroe Street, Spokane, WA 99201 (please avoid parking in the Taco Bell parking lot)

There are also "Tiny Taco" options with different starting locations if you still want to participate, but don't feel like running that many miles. See the attached fliers for more information.

Here is the info for Saturday's hike!
It looks like my original plan is still part of the closed areas of the park, so we're pivoting!

You will need a Discovery Pass there.
Meet at 9:45am, hike will begin at 10:00am.

Also, if you are interested in the Hike at Riverside this weekend (Saturday), stay tuned! I'm keeping an eye on what is open and will hopefully have details on where we are meeting on Thursday! We will be meeting at 9:45am, hike at 10:00am - location TBD.

It was so nice seeing all of your Back to School boards and pics. Heidi also got her 33rd run! She shared that her favorite memory is that run club is a good change of pace to get her outside her comfort zone, meeting new people and being social with all of us. Congrats Heidi!!
