Events will include an animal presentation, fishing demonstration by a KDWP Biologist, archery range, fishing clinic, and more.

Updates on water here at Cheney State Park!
West side- all campgrounds have water at the camp sites, both dump stations are on, the only bathrooms still open at this time is the Smarsh Creek bath/shower house.
East Side- all campgrounds have water at the campsites, both dump stations are on, there are NO bath/shower houses opened at this time. There are vault restrooms located across the O'briens Marina for use.
We are hoping to have the rest of the restrooms/shower houses opened soon.

Astronomy Night coming soon! Club Nova will be out April 26th, 2025 from 8pm-10pm at Cheney State Park at the Wichita Day Use Area for a fun night for all kiddos!

Just an update in regards to the water, all campsites water has been turned on with the exception of Heimerman Point Campground.
There is a bathroom/shower house open at Smarsh Creek campground on the West Shore, and the dump station.
There are currently no bathrooms/showers, or dump stations opened on the East Shore, we are hoping to have those opened by the end of next week.

Cheney State Park Office will be closed Tuesday January 28th-Thursday January 30th for employee training. We will be back open Friday January 31, for our normal 8-4:30pm hours.
