The Last Stand Rodeo has been the cornerstone of Memorial Day Weekend in Coulee City for decades. The rodeo runs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the holiday weekend each year and always delivers a classic rodeo experience for spectators. As a sanctioned rodeo of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, it showcases traditional rodeo events such as saddle bronc and bull riding, mutton bustin’, rodeo royalty, and timed events. It also features a rodeo clown and seasoned announcer to continue the entertainment between events.
Next year, the Last Stand Rodeo will reach its 75th annual rodeo, marking a milestone for the organization and its community. Putting on a rodeo for three quarters of a century is neither cheap nor light work. To ensure that the rodeo association is equipped with funding for any need that may arise, the Coulee City Rodeo Association created a fund with the Columbia Basin Foundation in 2022. This funding helps the rodeo to continue producing a high-quality rodeo experience in Coulee City for years to come.
The Columbia Basin Foundation is glad to work with the Coulee City Rodeo Association and excited to see what their 75th year holds!
