Growth happened one step at a time. 🌍

In 1991, a new production hall created the space for modern manufacturing technology and greater production capacity.

The first WM 2300 was exported to Switzerland, followed by appearances at local and national trade fairs. In 1997, another major milestone was reached:
the 100th WM ice resurfacing machine.

What started in South Tyrol gradually found its way to customers, events and industry stages far beyond home.

WM was never only about ice resurfacing. 🔧⚙️

Over the years, new challenges led to very different solutions — from equipment for firefighting vehicles and an industrial floor machine to systems that made everyday work on the ice easier.

Some ideas became milestones. Others became valuable lessons.

The WM 1700 Mini introduced technical principles that are still used today, while the WM Evolution later brought innovations such as a quick blade-change system and color display.

Different challenges.
One mindset:
If it doesn’t exist, build it.

The beginning of the story. ❄️⚙️

One of the first major projects was a custom ice resurfacing system built onto a Unimog. Only two of these machines were ever made.

That same year, WM became the first manufacturer to introduce a 2,300 mm resurfacing conditioner — saving ice masters two full laps during every resurfacing cycle.

Soon after, the WM 2500 and WM 2300 followed, marking the first important steps in WM’s own machine development.

From the very beginning, the mindset was clear:

Question the standard. Build a better solution.
