25 years later, we remember.
Twenty-five years have passed, but for so many, the memories of that day remain as vivid as ever. We remember the lives that were taken far too soon. We remember the families who lost husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and friends. We remember the first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away.
We remember the courage.
We remember the sacrifice.
We remember the heartbreak.
We remember the heroes.
And we remember that behind every number was a person, a life, a family, a story, and people who loved them.
May we never forget the nearly 3,000 innocent souls who lost their lives that day, nor the countless others whose lives were forever changed in the years that followed.
25 years later, their names still matter. Their stories still matter. Their lives still matter.
May we continue to honor them not only by remembering September 11, but by choosing kindness, compassion, courage, and unity every day.
