It is with the deepest pride that I give the Academy's most enthusiastic congratulations to Isabella Gonzalez for her commissioning in the US Navy as a new Ensign. From your years in the Academy rising to Nidan to now serving your country, I am so excited at what lies in front of you. Following in the steps of you teacher! It is wonderful to see my former students thrive and excel. Fair winds and following seas!

It is with the deepest sadness that I wish to announce that the Founder of Chester Karate Academy, and my teacher, Sensei George Calvert passed away on Thursday, November 19. Mr. Calvert started the dojo in 1979 and touched innumerable lives with his training and perspectives on the martial arts. I first walked through the dojo doors in August 1988 and was immediately drawn towards the quiet, unassuming nature of this man. I will always appreciate his guidance and direction along the path of martial arts. Mr. Calvert, we will always remember you. You will be missed terribly.

Congratulations to Chester Karate Academy 's Head Instructor, Mr. Chuck Harman, on his promotion to Shichidan (7th Degree Black Belt). Thank you to my teacher Mr. Calvert for all of your education and guidance over these many years.
