In honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, we are holding a fi****ms class specifically for women. This is a USCCA created class geared towards getting women introduced to the world of fi****ms in a safe and relatable manner. This price includes the class fee and handgun rental. This is a 4 hour class with optional range time afterwards (Range Fee and Ammo not included).

This is a great class if you are unfamiliar with fi****ms, are afraid of fi****ms or would just like to get some official training but cannot yet commit to the 2 day Conceal Carry Course. The price for this course is $150 per person.

This weekend while on the range qualifying, one of our students experienced one of the malfunctions we went over in class “The Stovepipe”. She immediately noticed it, sat the gun down (pointed down range” and we used that as a learning moment.

A stovepipe failure occurs when there is a weak phase in cycling, and the round fails to eject correctly. It causes the spent casing to jam between the slide and chamber opening, making your weapon unusable until it is fixed.

Another great Concealed Carry class completed this weekend. All of the students were great and did great both in class and on the range.

Huge shout out to them as well for being vigilant at the range during a medical emergency. Unfortunately as we were wrapping up someone went into medical distress. While me and a couple other RSOs had to jump into action to stabilize the person, my students were helping call out important details, direct the crowd back, and had even spotted the early signs of cardiac arrest the person displayed (when some others hadn’t). Huge shout out for that!

That being said, it’s not good enough to only know how to protect life (should we just absolutely need to), but we must also learn some life preserving skills as well.

Hayes Fi****ms Academy offers the USCCA Emergency FirstAid Fundamentals Class where you will learn CPR, womb dressing and packing, How to treat certain injuries and also how to spot signs of Stroke, Heart Attack and Allergic Reactions (and more).
