We’ve entered the last four weeks of our 12-week program... Power!

Olympic Weightlifting movements will be more heavily implemented in these workouts to further build our speed and explosiveness. While we will make these heavy, we will also take time to objectively implement Velocity Based Training.

You may drop the bar in between reps, but they should be performed one after the other. Drop the heaviest weight you hit in the comments ⬇️

Member Spotlight: Jason Williams

This month we’re featuring Jason, a Bolt member since August 2022! ⚡️

Favorite class: Olympic Weightlifting. Having an hour each week to focus on Olympic lifting has been a game changer. The coaches provide great targeted feedback, and the Sunday vibes are always fun and supportive.

Favorite Skill: Power Cleans + Squat Sn**ch. Power cleans - seeing the progression of my form and being able to add weight has been rewarding. Squat snatches, however, are easily the most humbling—but that challenge keeps me motivated.

Why did you choose Bolt? I didn’t really choose Bolt—Bolt chose me. Thanks to Steph, my very own gym was built on the bottom floor of my apartment building, so I figured I had to give it a try :) After more than 12 years of group fitness in Chicago, it has become the only way I like to train. When I moved to Ravenswood, finding a new gym downstairs was pretty tough to beat.

The better question is why I stayed. The answer is the coaches, the programming, and the community. After nearly 800 classes, there are still new movements and programs being introduced, and you can tell a lot of thought goes into every phase of training. The coaches genuinely want everyone to improve, and the community keeps me motivated. Struggling through assault-bike intervals together is a sure fire way to build friendships.

Thanks to Steph and Bolt, I get to wake up, take 15 steps, have the best 7 a.m. workout with friends and make new ones along the way.

Fun fact: Born and raised in South Florida. Lived in Chicago for last 15 years - still haven’t been to Wisconsin.

We’re so grateful to have Jason as part of our amazing community! 💪
