Dr. Conrad Worrill Track & Field Center at Gately Park

A huge congratulations to our Gately Park Athletic Club who competed in the AAU Junior Olympic Games held at Drake University in Des Moines, IA.

Clifford Pointer III, captured the 9-year-old boys’ 400-meter championship title running 58.70 seconds and breaking the previous 10 year standing AAU Junior Olympic Games record of 59.25.

Bryce Geiger and Kennth Collier Jr. also return home as champions after winning their events in the 10 year old division. Geiger won the 1500m in a time of 4:53.03 and Kennth ‘KJ” Collier Jr. won the turbo javelin with a throw of 109 feet.

With three champions, 42 Junior Olympic qualifiers and a new national record, Gately Park Athletic Club is making a compelling case that some of the country's next track and field stars are already running right here in Chicago. Congrats to all of our GPAC athletes!
