Johnny's IceHouse

1350 W Madison. Built in 1996 by Annie and Lewis Kostiner. Two major players in the redevelopment of the West Loop. The rink was built partially to provide a home for their young daughters to experience the sport of hockey. Ironically, it morphed into one of the largest Adult Hockey Leagues in the country. Tom and Lisa Moro purchased the rink in 2004, maintained the youth hockey component but really leaned into the Adult Leagues. The Moro's then built Johnny's West in 2010 to expand the operation. To this day, Johnny's has been, and still is, considered THE place to play Adult League Hockey, a benchmark for surrounding rinks and states. Johnny's will still maintain its commitment to the Adult League Community as we shift to the 2550 W Madison location. We hope our folks enjoy the final slate of games this weekend at our dear old barn, 1350 W Madison, Johnny's East....

The Stanley Club. Could this be the smallest bar in Chicago? Perhaps. The close confines bring teammates, opponents, friends, fans, and family together. "Going up?" A post game rhetorical question that teammates would jokingly ask each other after a game. The answer was always obvious, but the formality was a membership handshake of sorts. Recapping the game, talking about life, watching the next event on the ice, NHL regular season and playoff games on the TV. This space forged lifelong friendships for the community for 30 years.

Labatt! Johnny's IceHouse has some thirsty patrons. Johnny's East and West have been the #1 & #2 top Labatt accounts in the whole state of Illinois (600 cases more than the next closest account). Not just on premise… TOTAL Accounts! 4x as much as the UC. Johnny’s East is the 7th largest On Premise account in the MIDWEST year to date. Johnny’s West is the 10th largest On Premise account in the Midwest year to date. If you combined both locations under “Johnny's Icehouse total” would be the 4th largest On Premise account YTD in the Midwest going toe to toe with major sports arenas. 12 consecutive years as the #1 on premise account in the state of Illinois. A view from The Stanley Club. Pre game, post game, no game, this was a view millions of patrons have enjoyed over the past 30 years. Whether it was their first glimpse or their thousandth, no view was ever the same. Except when the rink was empty...here Barry catches the rink napping before it revs up for a weekend of activity. One of the hardest working/busiest/most utilized ice rinks ever to exist.

Congrats to Spare Parts on their 2-0 victory last night at Johnny’s West. Congrats to The Whalers on a great season as well. Johnny’s 3v3 beginner league is great for folks new / newish to hockey. Next season starts May 12th, we are still looking for a few more free agents! Beginner friendly league. Hit us up.
