Every time I share techniques with law enforcement officers who don’t regularly train, I hear the same thing: they’re unsure how to safely engage and control someone without unnecessarily exhausting themselves.

That’s one of the biggest problems in this industry.

The job is serious, and the stakes are high. But becoming truly skilled takes more than just showing up for work. It takes extra training, repetition, and a commitment to getting better.
