Tohkon Classic 2026🥇🥇🥇🥈

With over 500 competitors in attendance, Evolution Dojo had 8 judokas step onto the tatami across regular, elite, and veteran divisions, bringing home 3 gold medals and 1 silver!

For a couple of our judokas, this was their very first tournament! We couldn’t be prouder of everyone’s dedication, hard work, and courage to compete. Every match is an opportunity to gain experience, grow, and make improvements in practice.

The work we put in on the mats shows in competition. Congratulations to all our competitors!💪🥋🔥

Respect is part of the training and is fundamental to judo and to everything we do at Evolution Dojo. Respect the space. Respect your instructors. Respect your training partners. Respect the art.

From showing up on time to leaving your ego off the tatami, the little things matter. We strive to uphold these values every time we step on the mat🥋🔥

Thursday Technique: Hiza Guruma (Knee Wheel)🦵🛞💥 Demonstrated by Sensei Maje.

Hiza Guruma translates to “knee wheel,” an ashi waza technique where you control your opponent’s balance and use your foot against their knee area to guide them over the “wheel.”

We focus on technique-centered practice every Thursday at Evolution Dojo including fundamental technique breakdown, film review and freestyle work. Come sharpen your judo with us!🫵
