For more than seven decades, the Chicago Building Congress Merit Awards have recognized outstanding construction projects and the teams helping shape Chicagoland’s built environment.

CBC members and non-members are invited to submit eligible projects completed within the past three years and no later than December 31, 2026. Entries are accepted across a wide range of categories, including education, healthcare, residential and hospitality, commercial construction, renovation and adaptive reuse, infrastructure, interior build-out, and more.

✨ New for 2027: the Outstanding Trade Partner Award, recognizing trade and specialty contractors whose contributions made a meaningful impact on a project’s success and strengthened collaboration across the entire project team.

🎓 Applications are now open for the CBC Future Leaders Scholarship!

The Chicago Building Congress is proud to support the next generation of professionals pursuing careers in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry.

The inaugural CBC Future Leaders Scholarship is open to collegiate and trade students working toward education and training in the AEC field. Two recipients will each receive a $2,500 scholarship, presented at the 2027 Chicago Building Congress Merit Awards.

Created by future leaders for future leaders, this scholarship is designed to help expand access to opportunity and invest in the people who will help shape the future of Chicago’s built environment.
