🚨💛 This week's Move Good, Do Good donation went to Bikes N' Roses, an incredible organization that empowers young people on Chicago's west and northwest sides through bicycle mechanics training, leadership development, and community engagement. 🚲🔧

Teaching kids how to fix bikes, build confidence, and strengthen their communities? That's the kind of chain reaction we can get behind. (Bike pun intended.) 😅

We are so back!!! Last summer, BNR youth led free repair clinics all over the west side, and fixed 100+ bikes. This year, we’re going harder, and GIVING AWAY 100 bikes.

In the past months, dozens of youth leaders in the program have learned the fundamentals of bike repair to refurbish and restore this fleet of bikes. They are now ready to give them to residents, promoting physical and mental health and access to affordable transportation. This is a big initiative that impacts so many neighbors, and it wouldn’t be a success without the leadership and dedication of BNR youth mechanics.

We are also coming with some free repair clinics as well, just keep an eye on our page ❤️

Thank y'all!!!

Our open shop has been getting so so big. On average we have about 30 of you all visiting each Thursday. We only have so many adults available to instruct, so what makes this possible is youth teaching youth. Once one person masters a technical skill, it’s their job to communicate that information to the next person. This community of shared skills is a beautiful thing.

Thank you all for coming we love you all, please don’t skid on your fixies in the shop 😭 See you next week

Hey y'all join BNR and Coach KT on a limited training session!

No Open Shop for the next two weeks! Our staff will be busy taking naps and playing video games (among other crucial holiday activities). We hope everyone’s staying warm, and we’ll see you next year! Happy holidays 🤍

Thank you to everyone who came out to Alebrije Night last Friday! It was so great seeing y’all and having a final community get-together to close up the year ❤️‍🔥

This month, we also had an exciting project created for ’s annual Gathering of Communities (GOC). Our teens built a blender bike, on which people had fun making smoothies 🍊 The project served as a fun, immersive demonstration of how cycling isn’t just a mode of transpo, but also a source of stress relief, liberation, connection, and more.

The blender bike is now housed in the shop, and you can expect to see it at future events to come (:
