Saddened to hear of the passing of our friend Randy Scott.

He was one of the very best!

RIP

We lost our friend Randy Scott last week. He passed away suddenly at his home in Sugar Grove, IL at 67 — and the shock is still settling in for many of us.

I met Randy though my uncle, and he took me to some of my first CABDA shows when I was a kid.

If you’ve spent any time in the Illinois cycling scene, you knew Randy. He raced for years with the Pepsi Cycling Team, was an Illinois State Time Trial Champion, and competed at Nationals. Track, road, time trials — he did it all. And he kept riding.

Randy worked for Sigma USA for 11 years and helped out with our very first show in 2015. When we were just trying to get it off the ground, he showed up and believed in it.

Over the years he became a fixture at the show — walking the aisles, reconnecting with old friends, and talking bikes like he always did. He was part of the fabric of the place.

My heart goes out to Cathy and the entire Scott family. If you knew Randy, take a ride this week and push a little harder into the wind for him.

We’ll miss you, Randy. RIP

🐾 CABDA Shop Dog Contest Spotlight! 🐾

Say hello to Wally (or Wallace, if you're not into the whole brevity thing...) from Edgebrook Cycle in Chicago.

At 7 years old, this handsome guy has built a reputation as the shop’s most loyal employee and its most enthusiastic lunchtime companion.

Wally’s official duties include:

- Sniffing every child who walks through the door
- Taking strategic naps for morale support
- Bravely protecting the staff from the terrifying vacuum
- Performing high-speed zoomies around the shop after closing
- Serving as the designated “lunch buddy” so nobody ever eats alone

And his favorite snack? Deli meats. All the deli meats. 🥪🐶

⭐️We are taking a year off from our Annual Gala & Casino Night, but we will be back and better than ever in 2026!

⭐️We’re also announcing the move of our annual bike ride, Cycle for a Cure to Pediatric Leukemia, from June to September to align with Childhood Cancer and Leukemia Awareness Month! SAVE THE DATE for 9.13.25!

The 2024 Holiday Toy Drive is off to a tremendous start! Over 200 toys so far!

Big thanks to all our riders, everyone that has dropped off toys, sent us packages, and helped spread the word!

Reid Bikes even donated a bike! And our friends at Olympic Supply will make quite a few kids' holidays a little bit brighter!
