Seasonal Rhythms: The Art of the Pivot • Sept. 20 at 4pm

Join Karla Huffman & Mónica Casanova, PKT, ERYT,CMT | Ayurvedic Practitioner for a seasonal practice for grounding, cooling, and preparing the body for change.

As summer begins to soften into fall, we gather to honor the body’s natural need to cool, ground, and recalibrate. Through a nourishing Yoga Nidra practice, an introduction to the Ayurvedic qualities of Vata, Nasya oiling, and Nadi Shodhana, we’ll explore how the changing seasons invite us to shift our own rhythm rather than resist it.

We’ll close with a reflective journal prompt and a nourishing soup to take home, creating space to listen for the tempo change, tend to the body, and move into the next season with greater ease, nourishment, and intention.

The physical practice of yoga has many approaches. Some are very passive, others are extremely active, while others fall somewhere in between.

But when does a yoga class turn into something else? Should yoga be a workout? What’s the difference between yoga and calisthenics? For that matter, what’s the difference between yoga and stretching? What makes yoga, yoga?

Join on Saturday, June 6th at 2:00pm for a workshop where we will begin with a short discussion on these and other related questions, then apply certain guidelines to a vigorous practice that will incorporate:
• Classical yoga
• Elements of martial arts
• Functional movements
• Breathwork
• Meditation

Come with an empty stomach and an open mind.

In his classes, you can expect to sweat a little, breathe a lot, and leave with the mental clarity that defines yoga. In addition to decades of yoga practice, Jim is also a former wrestler and a black belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu.
