Competitions are not just about winning or losing — they are life lessons.

When a child steps onto any sports field, they are not just facing an opponent, but also facing themselves.

In that moment, they may feel scared, anxious, brave, or even frustrated… it’s important to provide a safe environment, surrounded by people who support and believe in them.

Every competition is an opportunity for growth.

It teaches a child to control their emotions, to focus under pressure, to get up after a fall, and to understand… effort is not a guarantee of victory, but a path toward progress.

It’s preparation for maturity, because in life, challenges are daily, “opponents” are internal, and the greatest achievement is not giving up.

Healthy competition builds empathy, discipline, and self-awareness.
Those who compete today are building the strength needed for tomorrow’s world.

Because medals and trophies will fade one day…
But what they went through will remain etched in them forever.

Parents need to understand that these are just children, and let the competition stay among the kids — it should never happen between parents or be taken out on the children.

What a journey it’s been!

These incredible kids have been with us since the very beginning of the Chicago Wolves Judo Academy, and this picture from the end of 2024 is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and progress. We are so proud of everything they’ve accomplished and the strong community we’ve built together.

As we look ahead to 2025, we’re more than excited to continue growing, learning, and achieving even greater milestones. Thank you to all our athletes, families, and supporters for being a part of this journey.

What an incredible week for our club! 🥋 We brought home two medals from national events , showing the dedication and talent of our team. On top of that, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been promoted to Black Belt Second Dan—a huge milestone for me personally.

Looking ahead, 2024 is shaping up to be an exciting year with new opportunities for our club. We’re planning to have our kids compete at national events, showcasing their hard work on a bigger stage. Let’s keep the momentum going—this is just the beginning!
