We're inspired to see our friends Paul Sommer and Jeff Birkel get out and swim for ALS research, despite last week's cancellation.

Paul, our top fundraiser for the 2025 swim, committed to pulling Jeff, who lives with ALS, behind him in a kayak.

Thank you both for continuing to advocate for the Chicago River Swim and ALS research, and for reminding us what's possible when a community comes together for a purpose.

Bravo! 👏

A huge thank you to the , Daryl Barron, who traveled all the way from Ireland to join us for the Swim.

It’s a powerful reminder that waterway restoration is a global movement, and how much further we can go when we build community and learn from friends across the world. 🌎🇮🇪💙

At the end of the day, it really was about uplifting others and building community. We couldn’t be more grateful for that.

Thank you to everyone who was a part of our weekend. See you next year on Sept. 19, 2027! 🌊

We’re incredibly grateful to our team, volunteers, staff, partners and supporters who showed up for this year’s swim and believed in our mission.

While the Chicago River Swim takes place over one weekend, it’s the result of yearlong planning and the dedication of hundreds of people who make it possible, from our volunteers and fire department partners to the crews testing the water and everyone working behind the scenes.

Thank you. 💙
