👏 Big News out of STC!

We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our Intercollegiate Offshore Regattas. The East Coast IOR has long been a favorite of college sailing teams. The Great Lakes IOR has also seen record participation in recent years and now we've expanded to the West Coast!

⛵ The addition of the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta marks a significant milestone for the series, expanding the IOR footprint to the Pacific Northwest and strengthening intersectional competition nationwide.

What a weekend! Thanks to all the teams and the volunteers who made this weekend possible!

“Getting college sailors out on the water in Chicago has always been a goal each year,” said Event Chair Nick Zomer. “This regatta is about more than competition—it’s about creating opportunities for student-athletes to experience offshore sailing and connect with the wider sailing community. We couldn’t do it without the generosity of local boat owners who lend their boats, and our key partners Skyway Yacht Works, Helly Hansen, the Midwest Collegiate Sailing Association, and Dimension-Polyant”

This year also marks the debut of the Callisto Cup, a new trophy 🏆 created by Storm Trysail Club to link GLIOR with its Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta (IOR) held annually in Larchmont, NY, which draws more than 40 teams.

Let's hear it for the youth! 14 teams descend on Lake Michigan this weekend. Heading out in two classes- Tartan 10 and J/105- these college sailors will test their keelboat skills in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta.

Tonight GLIOR ‘24 J105 boat owners were welcomed to Chicago Yacht Club for a celebratory dinner! Fun times were had! Without their support, this regatta wouldn’t happen, thank you again for offering up your yachts for this incredible event! Stay tuned for updates regarding the ‘25 GLIOR!
