I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE...
My NEW group personal training class idea that I have been ruminating on for years!
This is a culmination of years of fitness, mindfulness, mediation, music and more!
This project means so very much to me and I hope it will you as well!
That being said, I present to you,
Tech N Sweat Tuesdays w/ ME!
4 x UFE World Champion Fitness Model
And, a special guest DJ mixing LIVE for our workout and deep stretch/yoga sessions.
Each week I will feature various LIVE DJ's from around the Chicagoland location to fuel our workouts with some bad@$$ Techno and House music.
Our first class will be held the first Tuesday of 2022, kicking off the NEW YEAR in style with the beautiful and talented Organic DJ
This 2 hour class will consist of 1 hour of strength & conditioning training.
Followed by 1 hour of deep stretching, yoga and meditation.

Let's talk Headspace for a sec.
Headspace; a person's state of mind or mindset. With technological advances making our work/lives easier in many ways, the pace of life has increased significantly as a result. Our minds are left overloaded w/information and at times its hard to make sense of it all.
Headspace focuses on “the capacity to think clearly, without interference”, which is crucial in the world we live in today. Without it, we tend to make bad decisions, not feel ourselves, sometimes reacting inappropriately out of character.
In the long run, the state of our headspace impacts our wellbeing and overall health.
We often hear the word headspace used in connection with psychology and meditation. We’re advised to “find more headspace” to benefit our wellbeing, so that we may better control our thoughts and feelings.
The importance of having your own headspace (the opportunity to think clearly without interference) is extremely significant if you’re trying to keep balance in life. Research has found excessive use of tech, such as smartphones, increased stress and anxiety. The buzz of a hectic day, surrounded by gadgets and phones ringing, can drown out our natural headspace and leave us feeling anxious.
Stress and anxiety can hamper our focus and prevent us from feeling like their best self. Too much of it can cause more sick days, burnout, a feeling of disengagement, depression and strained relationships. Taking time to reframe your headspace daily can help to avoid these issue. Give yourself the space you need. It's not selfish, it's necessary to allow balance in life.
Here are a few activities I've found help me to refresh my mindset, and move past my feelings to gain some mental clarity. Daily meditation is great, I do that as well, and highly recommend it. However, implementing other rituals truly has allowed me to get grounded and bring myself back to the present moment.

A little late on the summer body BUT that's okay.
Sometimes it's okay to step away from training, refocus, recover and recharge!

So, time to focus on getting ripped for UFE Worlds 2021, that will be good enough for me.

Did you know 🍯 honey 🐝 is GOOD for you?
Okay, you probably did. 😏
BUT, did you know the many reasons why?
My main reason I eating local honey specifically is allergies.
See, local bees make local honey, which means the pollen they collect and bring back to the hive is all sourced from local plants. Since many seasonal allergies are caused by these same plants, eating honey that contains that pollen can possibly combat those allergies.
In addition to potentially fighting allergies, one of the great benefits of local honey is that it’s unprocessed and pure. The stuff you find in the grocery stores is often filtered, a process that removes the trace amounts of pollen it might contain. The purer the honey, the stronger its medicinal properties, like potential anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.
Honey produced at local farms comes in different flavors according to local plant life. These flavors don’t come from additives, however. Instead, they are created based on the plants from which the bees draw pollen. Releasing the farm-raised bees into select local plant life not only creates some incredible honey flavors, but it also helps pollinate the plants, which is beneficial to all local wildlife.
Besides benefiting the plant life, supporting local honey helps the bee population as well. Since bees are now endangered, it’s more vital than ever to support local bee farmers who are helping raise and maintain healthy bees.
Like many other things in life, honey is best in moderation—you don’t have to consume an entire jar in one sitting to enjoy the benefits. For allergies, just a spoonful of honey a day during allergy season can potentially make a difference.
AND, it helps to support the growth in bee population, which is actually sadly going down!
So add a little suga to your day with a tablespoon of local honey! It makes a great pre-workout 👍

I will admit I've been struggling ALOT the last year. As I am sure a great many of you are as well. Between all that is happening in the world and my personal life/health, I haven't felt like much of a champion at all. I am learning life lessons I never saw coming, and am now starting to understand how trauma manifests itself in the body even years or decades later. This trauma is stuff I have touched on before, but won't get into that her or now.
But the fact remains I have been feeling pretty defeated and crummy about it all given I have changed my lifestyle over the last decade plus to be the person I am, and you see today!
This morning while out walking my dogs I was trying to simply be present and enjoy my surroundings, the sun on my skin and its warmth. I was aiming to not let myself ruminate in my emotions, feelings and self critical thoughts when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye.
An elderly gentleman, walking in the slush and snow with teenieson, moving very gingerly and slow. My first thought was "I feel you old man, my body aches too." But then the narrative quickly changed to, "This old man is struggling to walk safely, your 30 years plus his junior and pouting about things you are taking control over. STOP letting your thoughts get the best of you and control your behaviors, and GO HELP THAT MAN!"
So, I went over and asked if he needed and would like help.
He looked at me with such expressive and appreciative eyes as to scream YES, as his lips simply said "your an angle."
So, I took his hand and we crossed the street...
