Men's Soccer is holding an open tryout for interested student-athletes. The entry fee is $10 with a full reimbursement if invited to join the team. The initial tryout day has passed, but there is one more chance! It will take place this Tuesday (tomorrow), August 24th from 4-5 p.m. on the soccer field. WELCOME, JACOB | The Moody men's soccer team adds Jacob Gravlin to the roster for the 2021 season. Gravlin played at Mona Shores High School in Michigan, primarily as a right back through his high school career. He played in a very strong Mona Shores defense, contributing to a District Title in 2020.

"Jacob is a great addition to our team this fall," Forsythe said. "He is a determined defender, and really understands his role in the back line. His athleticism and refusal to be beat in the 1v1 will help Jacob a lot as he transitions to the college game."

WELCOME AIDAN | The Moody men's soccer team adds Aidan McHugh to the roster for the 2021 season. A 2021 graduate, McHugh played at Reeths-Puffer High School. McHugh is a versitile player, taking up roles in both the defensive and midfield areas. In addition to playing soccer, McHugh is a state ranked pole vaulter finishing T-6th in the state his senior year.

"We are thrilled to add Aidan to our group for the fall," said head coach Jon Forsythe. "He will be a good physical presence for us, and his ability to play effectively in a number of different positions will be a great asset for our team."

🚨HERE WE GO🚨 The Moody men's soccer program adds defender Dany Silva to the program for the Fall 2021 season. Silva plays for the 03 FC Dallas Silver and Lone Star High School in Frisco, Tex.

"We are thrilled to have Dany join our program," said Head Coach Jon Forsythe. "He has speed, determination to win his 1v1 battles, and brings something to the attack even from deeper positions."

"Dany is a great fit for our school and our program. He has a strong call into ministry and continues the family legacy at Moody."

Both of Silva's parents attended Moody Bible Institute in the late 2000s.

Silva joins an Archers squad looking to defend their 2020 North Regional Championship and build upon their success at last year's National Tournament. The Archers' open their 2021 fall season against Indiana University - Northwest on Sept. 8.

• 2020 SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT • Despite cancelling the regular season contests due to COVID-19 concerns, the Moody men's soccer team has been approved to compete in NCCAA postseason tournament play this November. The Archers will compete in the North Regional Tournament Nov. 5-7 in Watertown, WI. If the Archers win the North Regional Tournament, they will qualify to play in the NCCAA National Tournament Nov. 17-21 in Kissimmee, FL.

In cooperation with Moody's COVID-19 Task Force and Athletic Director Dan Dunn, the coaching staff has compiled COVID-19 risk mitigation measures, including testing and isolation, to ensure a safe competitive environment.

"I am grateful to Coach Dunn, [Moody Provost] Dr. Perry and the COVID-19 committee for working with us throughout the fall to create a safe plan for competing," said Head Coach Jon Forsythe. "This is a special group of players, and I am very proud of how they have conducted themselves through this fall."

The team has trained and competed in intrasquad scrimmages throughout this semester and will continue to do so leading up to the Regional Tournament.
