You all think I became a Vikings fan by choice. That’s not true. Years ago, while walking through an abandoned parking lot outside a preseason game, I was bitten by a mysterious purple-and-gold bug. Not a spider… a bug. Scientists still refuse to acknowledge it exists. At first I ignored it, but then strange things started happening. Every Sunday I’d wake up yelling “SKOLL’NN!” for absolutely no reason. I’d suddenly know where every tailgate was before Google Maps did. Purple smoke seemed to follow me everywhere. People started asking for pictures with me, and somehow every TV camera at the stadium knew exactly where I was standing.

At first I thought it was a coincidence. Then I realized… it was my destiny.

So I did what any responsible person would do. I started documenting every game, every tailgate, every fan, every ridiculous moment I could find. Not because I wanted attention… but because the bug demanded content. Before I knew it I had infiltrated trash talk groups, fan pages, parking lots, training camp, away games, random gas stations, and probably a couple places I wasn’t supposed to be. The mission was simple: observe everything, post everything, and never let anyone know the truth.

Some of you think we’ve never met. That’s adorable. I’ve already liked your post from three different timelines. I’ve photobombed your tailgate pictures. I’ve accidentally ended up behind you on national television so many times that broadcasters probably think I work there. People recognize me in public now, but I just nod politely and pretend I have absolutely no idea what’s going on. That’s exactly what the bug trained me to do.

The truth is, SKOLL’NN was never just a slogan. It was the activation phrase.

Every “Bears still suck” post? Training.

Every countdown to football? Training.

Every ridiculous ranking list? Definitely training.
