Capoeira Malês - Chico, California

Happy Holidays to everyone. I would first like to say thank you to everyone who has supported the Capoeira Malês - Chico, California academy this past year. We have had ups & downs, we found a new location to call home, and we continue to keep improving as capoeiristas.
As a quick reminder, there will be no class today or next weekend. Enjoy the winter break with family & friends and I will see everyone in the new year.

Hey everyone! Taking a short winter break from classes. No kids class today or next weekend. First class of the new year will be Jan 9th

Apologizes for the short notice, but class for Sunday, October 10th is cancelled.

After a year break, kid’s class will be returning next month!

I’m happy to say that I’ve had the opportunity to be fully vaccinated, and I feel comfortable enough to slowing bring back classes starting this Sunday at 12pm.

We are still requiring mask, temperature checks before entering the class, socially distancing, and limited capacity.

This might not be idea for everyone, but we have to start safely, and in a manner that help us continue to be able to offer classes.

While at this time we can’t train together, it’s still important to share our views and values. We can’t have Capoeira without recognizing the history for which it stands.

As a preemptive concern, all martial art classes will be suspended for the next few weeks at Chico Kodenkan. We all love to train together, but we care more about the safety of our students.

Due to heavy rains, my path to Chico is flood. Unfortunately no class tonight.

After some consideration, our Tuesday & Thursday evening classes will be switching to only Wednesday evening. I would like to see a single active class during the week instead of 2 low attendance classes. I've also been told Wednesday is a better day of the week, so let's get active again and I look forward to seeing everyone this Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
