OK guys/gals, I've seen so many posts complaining about not being able to hunt on Sundays over the past several years here it is.. time to step up or shut up... We have a chance to get Sundays, X bows and a reduction in the distance from a dwelling and yet almost no one has e mailed their reps... Seriously?? Where are the keyboard warriors now that the battle is at hand?? The time is now to step up.. Write the e mail... Find your reps.. send them the e mails... That's it... took me 15 min tops and I can't write for crap so lots of corrections... I'll put my letter below... Take the time!!!!

Here's my letter, adjust to fit your style, change the name obviously..
Dear (Insert state rep name),
Like Governor Healey, I fully support the repeal of the following outdated hunting laws in Massachusetts and promote replacing them with far more practical, science-based regulations that move our state into a more modern-day era.
The first is the repeal of the ban on Sunday hunting in Massachusetts. This archaic law affects every single hunter working 6 days a week. It’s preventing them from hunting this state and sends their $’s to surrounding states that already allow Sunday hunting.
The second is the repeal of the Ban on the use of crossbows during archery season. As a hunter that is getting up there in age, I’m leaning more towards a crossbow to keep me out hunting instead of staying home. Again, states surrounding Ma are getting those hunters and their hunting $’s. It also gives youth hunters, not strong enough to draw a compound bow, the ability to get out and hunt and experience the outdoors over a tablet or video game.
The third is the repeal of the ban on hunting within 500 feet of a dwelling, reducing the distance to a more realistic distance while still maintaining safety requirements would allow for more practical land use in areas where lot sizes and how they are laid out are impractical under the current rule.
I fully believe these changes don’t alter the safety aspect of the laws; it just moves the state to a more modern-day approach to hunting, will greatly improve wildlife management in this state, increase hunter participation and give people more access to our great outdoors.
