Sherman Nation,
It’s hard to find the right words tonight.
Today our season came to an end against Akron St. Vincent–St. Mary, but what will stay with us far longer than the final score is the incredible journey we shared together. This was a special run, one we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.
From the very beginning of this tournament, Sherman Nation showed up in a way that only this community can. You filled the stands. You lined the roads for send-offs. You brought signs, energy, and pride everywhere we went. You donated to help make this trip possible. You hosted team dinners and supported these girls in ways big and small that meant more than you will ever know.
Everywhere we played, people noticed. They noticed the purple and gold. They noticed the noise. They noticed the pride of a community that stands behind its team.
And our girls felt it every step of the way.
To our seniors, thank you. You gave everything you had to this program. Your leadership, your work ethic, and the example you set helped make this run possible. You helped create memories that this community will talk about for years. While we wish this ride could have lasted a little longer, nothing will take away what you accomplished and the legacy you leave behind.
And to the rest of this team, thank you for the heart you played with every single day. For the hours in the gym, the sacrifices, the trust in one another, and the belief that carried you all the way to the Final Four. You played for each other, you played for this community, and you represented Unioto with toughness, pride, and class.
All season long, this group carried one word with them…Dangerous. Not just because of how they played, but because of the belief they had in each other and the fearlessness they showed every time they stepped on the floor.
And during this run, Sherman Nation made sure everyone in the state knew it.
This season gave us moments we will never forget; moments of belief, pride, and joy that brought our whole town together.
Sherman Nation, thank you for the miles traveled, the packed gyms, the send-offs, the meals, the donations, and most of all the love you showed this team.
It was a ride of a lifetime.
One we will never forget.
Once a Sherman, always a Sherman.💜💛
