I’m sad to report that after extensive searching for more affordable land to lease for hunts, I was unable to find a lease or a landowner that didn’t want 3-4 times the price I was looking for. It just wouldn’t have been a smart move to lose money just to keep my hunting business going. I apologize to anyone that was looking forward to this years hunt with us. I will continue to search for new properties in the future and those of you whose contact information I have, will be contacted and given first dibs on the hunts.

Gun season is upon us, and no question one of my favorite times of year. I haven’t had an actual gun season deer camp in a few years due to work related issues, but hopefully in the near future we will get to enjoy some deer gun hunting, camp cooking and beer drinking. we haven’t had anyone in camp this past week, but we are looking forward to Nicholas Virga and his crew coming in on Sunday for gun season!

Big congrats to Shawn Gassaway on his huge Ohio buck!! These Vermont hunters have hunted hard daylight to dark in the stand, rain or shine!

Dandy 9pt hit the ground this afternoon! Kevin, one of my Vermont hunters took him out! He said the Buck he saw yesterday was quite a bit bigger but out of range, this Dandy 9pt walked in today and he took the shot. I will post a picture of Kevin holding his buck later on, Kevin says it’s Bud light time!!!

Big split just ran a doe across my field right behind my pond!!!!A recent picture shows he has been fighting again this year he broke his brow tine, last year it was his G2!!!😳👍🏻

This buck hit the ground this week! Weather was tough but the deer were moving!

The rut is kicking in here in Southern Ohio, we have one buck down at Backwoods Hunting Adventures! Our current group of hunters have seen some nice deer and have braved the rainy weather this week, hoping they can close the deal on another Buck.

Corn got picked the Rut is kicking in and our big split buck showed up at last shooting light. 3 different bucks have showed up in the last 3 or4 days.

I’ve been thinking of putting together a late season bow/gun hunt. It would be for Dec. 11th - 17th. The first 5 days would be bow hunting and the following 2 days are Ohio’s extra weekend of gun season. So bring your bow and your gun! If anyone is interested in this please let me know. We are flexible on any late season hunt that someone would be interested in. Ohio’s 4 day muzzleloader season is also still available Jan. 6,7,8,9th. Send a private message for details.
