One of Iceland’s best short hikes is hiding right behind the waterfall. 🇮🇸

This is Seljalandsfoss, a 60-meter waterfall along Iceland’s South Coast where the trail actually takes you behind the falling water. Start at the Seljalandsfoss parking area just off the Ring Road, follow the path around and behind the falls, then continue north along the cliffs to Gljúfrabúi, a 40-meter waterfall tucked inside a narrow canyon. It’s only about a 10-minute walk between the two, making this an easy stop to turn into a much better little adventure.

Bring waterproof layers and shoes with good traction—you’re going to get wet. And if you can time it for late afternoon or sunset, this view from behind Seljalandsfoss is hard to beat. 🌅
