A new place to park it

Eucalyptus Park was the City’s first park, built in 1927. This 19.69-acre community park is located at 436 C Street and stretches from 5th Avenue and 4th Avenue.

The renovation work expected to completed in late 2026 is being funded in part by a $7,140,000 grant from the Statewide Parks Program’s Round Four, awarded in February 2022. The grant is also helping to cover the cost of a remodel of nearby Casa Casillas.

New Eucalyptus park amenities funded by the state grant will include:

-multi-purpose field with lighting
-interactive water feature
-skate/scooter plaza
-bike skills plaza and jump area
-perimeter walking path
-fitness equipment
-pickleball courts with lighting
-additional parking by the softball field
-new park monument sign
-new playground equipment and surfacing
-renovated small and large dog park areas

In 2023 City Council approved funding to expand the renovations to the
-tennis courts and lighting
-softball field and lighting
-basketball court
-picnic shelters
-restroom and storage buildings
-trash enclosure
-park fencing

When completed the expansion of Harbor Park (Formerly Bayside Park) will include a 25,000 sq ft, nautical-themed playground with a “climbable crow’s nest,” an 1,100 sq ft splash pad, landscaped areas, and improved walking/biking paths. The playground is expected to open in late 2026, with the splash pad slated for early 2027.
